LECTURER INVITED FROM GERMANY PRESENTS RECENT DEVELOPMENTS RELATED TO SPHERE OF MICROBIOLOGICAL BIOTECHNOLOGIES
The series of lectures entitled “Tendencies of microbiological biotechnology” started at YSU Faculty of Biology are going to last till November 8. The invited lecturer Professor of Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg of Germany Garry Sovers delivered some lectures to the faculty, young scholars and students.
The series of lectures were organized within the scope of cooperation between the Chair of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology of the Faculty of Biology, the Innovation Center for Microbiological Biotechnology and Bio-fuel and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
The assistant of the Chair of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology of the Faculty of biology, the researcher of Scientific and Research Institute of Biology, Doctor of Biology Karen Trchounian informed that the aim of the lectures was to present the recent developments and innovative approaches in the sphere of microbiological biotechnology to the faculty representatives and students. According to Karen Trchounian, such lectures promote experience exchange for students and lecturers, cooperation expansion, gaining new knowledge.
He also informed that Mr. Sovers has already delivered various lectures at YSU twice and was very impressed with the abilities of Armenian students. The specialists of the Chair have had opportunities to visit Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenburg to get experience exchange. Before starting the lecture Professor Sovers first of all presented the faculties of the university he represents, the possibilities for making research there and the programs of international cooperation.
Garry Sovers informed that the cooperation between YSU and Martin Luther University wil be continued. “Such lectures are of high importance for students and lecturers as they get fundamental knowledge in Biochemistry and Biotechnology, learn new methods of teaching.
