“CONSTRUCTION OF THIS DORMITORY IS A REAL PRESENT FOR OUR STUDENTS”: YSU RECTOR ARAM SIMONYAN
The opening ceremony of YSU dormitory after Gurgen Asadouryan has been held today at 55/5 Tsarav Aghbyur.
Owing to the sponsorship of the American Armenian benefactor Gurgen Asadouryan the building 51 of YSU international educational center has been overhauled.
The reconstruction was fulfilled by means of the bequest of benefactor Gurgen Asaduryan left to the university and financial means of YSU.
YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, representatives of administrative and teaching staff, students, guests were present at the event. In his greeting speech YSU Rector Aram Simonyan noted that opening of the dormitory is of very important significance for the university. “With its all facilities the dormitory will make it possible for students to organize their educational process and routine conveniently. The construction of this dormitory is a real present for our students on the occasion of the International Student Day. The dormitory is provided for 300-500 students՞.
YSU Scientific Secretary Menua Soghomonyan mentioned that such a dormitory is of vital significance for completing the image of university life. “We hope that foreign students will also enjoy the comfort of this dormitory. It is important for internationalization of our university, as while presenting our program packages we had problems with accommodation”, said Menua Soghomonyan. The director of YSU dormitory complex Leonard Shekyan noted that hereinafter the students will live in more comfortable conditions. “We have tried to do our best so as students will have all necessary conditions. There is a library, a reading hall, a cafeteria in the campus. Each floor has its kitchen and bathroom. Students also have a laundry room”, said the director of the dormitory.
According to Leonard Shekyan, the area is still being well-arranged. It is also planned to increase the green areas.
