The Russian writer, Honorary Citizen of Yerevan, Honorary Doctor of YSU, awardee of YSU Gold medal, laureate of a number of prizes Andrey Bitov was one of the founders of postmodernism in the Russian literature.
He was the first among the USSR writers to speak out and condemn the Armenian Genocide.
Andrey Bitov was a great friend of Armenian people. He stressed his love for Armenia in his expression “Armenia is the brightest place in my life”.
