YSU PROFESSOR: “IT’S NECESSARY TO ENCOURAGE THE SCIENTISTS WITH GREAT POTENTIAL AND ABILITIES”
The research program presented by the scientific-research group of YSU Faculty of Physics got a prize during the faculty research award carried out by the Enterprise Incubator Foundation.
The research project entitled “Manipulative optic devices based on chiral photonic liquid crystals and metamaterial-based photonic crystals” got the award in the field of applied physics.
Young assistants and researchers are included in the scientific group of the Faculty of Physics. The leader of the group is the head of the Chair of General Physics and Astrophysics after Academician V. Hambardzumyan, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor Ashot Gevorgyan.
According to the leader of the scientific-research group, the project deals with photonics: photonics is similar to semiconductors electronics which uses photons instead of electrons while transmitting signals and deals with working out of such photonic technologies of light signals which have great speeds of information exchange and little energy costs, therefore are very rapid, minimize the size of optic devices and cause little loss.
