“# I_AM_FROM_UNIVERSITY”: PROTEST ACTION IN YSU COURTYARD
The protest action was held today in the courtyard of YSU central building by a number of lecturers, employees, students and alumni-people who are worried with the situation at the university.
Prior to the action, the PR specialist, political technologist Narek Malyan announced on his Facebook page that he quits his association with YSU so as not to be accused of partiality. He urged all concerned people to gather in the courtyard of the university to understand why the snap session of the Board of Trustees was called. According to him, the members of the Board are exerted pressure which results in changing their previously made decision and in impeaching YSU Rector Aram Simonyan.
It should be noted that at the meeting of the Board of Trustees held on January 22, the report made by the Rector on the activities carried out by “Yerevan State University” foundation in 2017-2018 academic year was got a satisfactory assessment by the Board.
The PhD in Law, Associate Professor Ruben Melikyan mentioned that on his Facebook page he described the situation as a vacuum of legal culture, as absolute absence of legal culture.
