ARSEN BABAJANYAN TO BE APPOINTED VICE-RECTOR ON SCIENTIFIC POLICY AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION OF YSU
The head of the Chair of Applied Electrodynamics and Modelling of the Faculty of Radiophysics of YSU, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Professor Arsen Babajanyan has been appointed Vice-rector on Scientific Policy and International Cooperation of “Yerevan State University” foundation.
Arsen Babajanyan studied at the Faculty of Radiophysics of YSU, got his post-doctoral program at Sogang University of Seoul.
In 2000, got his PhD degree, “The anomalous growth of wave fields in the space limited structures” thesis, and in 2014 got Doctor of Physics degree defending the “Nano-resolution characterization techniques by near-field scanning microscopy at microwaves and optics” thesis.
In 2000-2004 Arsen Babajanyan worked as an assistant at Department of Microwave Radiophysics and Telecommunications of YSU. In 2004-2011 was a temporary professor at Seoul Sogang University, since 2018 is the head of the Chair of Applied Electrodynamics and Modelling.
The scientific research activity of the newly-appointed Vice-rector covers near-field microwave microscopy, optic and microwave biosensors, surface plasmon polaritons, telecommunications, wave-guided processes and organic semiconductor field transistors.
Arsen Babajanyan is a member of the “049” specialized council in Yerevan State University, the official reviewer for “IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters”, “OSA Continuum”, “Journal of the Optical Society of America B”, “Optics Letters”, “Optics Express”, “Applied Optics” scientific journals.
In 2014 was awarded with the RA President Prize.
