LEVON HOVSEPYAN TO BE APPOINTED YSU ACADEMIC SECRETARY
By the order of Rector Aram Simonyan, the assistant of the Faculty of International Relations Levon Hovsepyan has been appointed YSU Academic Secretary.
PhD in History Levon Hovsepyan graduated from YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies Bachelor program. In 2003-2005 he studied Master program of YSU Faculty of International Relations, in 2007-2008 studied at Yerevan School of Political Studies of the Council of Europe. He defended his PhD thesis in the Institute of Oriental Studies of the RA NAS.
In 2005-2006 the assistant at the Chair of Political Institutions and Processes Levon Hovsepyan worked in “Armenpress” news agency, in 2006-2011 he worked at the Institute of Political Research of the RA President’s staff.
In 2011-2017 Levon Hovsepyan worked in the centre of Public Relations and Information of the RA President’s staff. In 2018-2019 was the head of the division of Turkey of the RA NAS. Since 2011 to present has been working at the RA NAS Institute of Oriental Studies, since 2017- at the Faculty of International Relations of YSU.
The circle of interests of the newly-appointed Scientific Secretary involves the foreign policy, spheres of defense and security of Turkey, regional security problems.
Levon Hovsepyan delivers lectures on the themes as follows: “Regional policy of Turkey”, “The structure of armed forces and security system of Turkey”, “Modern international relations in the Middle East countries”, “Regional geography”.
The lecturer of the Faculty of International Relations is fluent in Armenian, English, Russian and Turkish. Levon Hovsepyan is a member of the editorial board of “Modern Eurasia” periodical of the RA NAS Institute of Oriental Studies.
