DISCUSSION OF COOPERATION POSSIBILITIES: REPRESENTATIVES OF JUSTICE OF ITALY ARE AT FACULTY OF LAW
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Armenia H.E. Mr. Vincenzo Del Monaco and the delegation consisted of the judges of and officials of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Italy were hosted today at the Faculty of Law.
The director of Criminal Justice office Donatella Donsti, judges Francesca Zagoreo and Antonio Pastore were included in the delegation. The Dean of YSU Faculty of Law Gagik Ghazinyan, the head of the Chair of Civil Proceeding Vahe Hovhannisyan, Professor of the Chair of Criminal Law Anna Margaryan and the member of the Council of Supreme Court , alumnus of the faculty, member of State Investigation Commission Hayk Hovhannisyan were present at the meeting.
Gagik Ghazinyan informed that the visit was organized within the frames of the program carried out on the initiative of the Italian Embassy in Armenia. The program is aimed at the support to be shown to the court system of Armenia. Its aim is to find cooperation directions.
Mr. Ghazinyan informed the members of the delegation that the teaching staff of the faculty involves practicing lawyers whose experience is shared with students, and the professors are involved in retraining process of lawyers (judges, prosecutors).
Attaching importance to the necessity of practical knowledge Vahe Hovhannisyan informed that the court of bankruptcy started working in Armenia since January 1 of this year, and numerous changes and amendments are being made in the RA Law “On Bankruptcy” however there is a problem with HR preparation.
Anna Margaryan asked her Italian colleagues about the criminal responsibility of legal entities and expressed hope that in near future they will get their support and the RA Criminal Code provides for criminal responsibility to be applied to legal entities.
