STUDENTS OF FACULTY OF PHYSICS ARE PRESENTED MASTER PROGRAM OF UNIVERSITY OF BOURGOGNE FRANCHE-COMTE
Today, the lecturer at the University of Bourgogne Franche-Comte, France (UBFC) Claude Leroy presented the Master program “Physics, Photonics and Nanotechnology” of their university.
The Dean of the Faculty of Physics of YSU Rafik Hakobyan, the representatives of the teaching staff and students of the faculty were present at the event. The meeting was organized by YSU Faculty of Physics and Science-Research Institute of Physics.
Claude Leroy noted that the duration of “Physics, Photonics and Nanotechnology” Master program is two years: during the first year the students study theoretical material and the during the second year they conduct researches in the international scientific-research laboratories. Best students get grants and the best alumni get the opportunity to carry on their education in UBFC postgraduate program.
The head of the Chair of Theoretical Physics of YSU Aram Saharyan informed that many alumni of the Faculty of Physics get Master course and postgraduate course at UBFC.
According to him, one of the main problems of science development in Armenia is lack of modern equipment which is rather expensive and in the conditions of scarce financing it’s difficult to purchase appropriate equipment. In this context the cooperation with foreign establishments is very important as it makes it possible for Armenian scholars to conduct experiments in well-equipped laboratories.
The perspectives of further joint educational and scientific programs were discussed during the meeting as well.
