“THE CASPIAN SEA: A SEA OF POSSIBILITIES”: CONFERENCE IN YSU
“The Caspian sea: a sea of possibilities” conference was held in the Session Hall of YSU Academic Council.
The forum was organized by YSU Department of International Cooperation in association with the Embassy of Turkmenistan.
YSU Rector Aram Simonyan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Armenia Muhammedgeldi Ayazov, the RA Deputy Minister of Transport, Communication and IT Armen Arzumanyan, the RA Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments Avag Avanesyan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Armenia Timur Urazaev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin, the Vice Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Armenia Ali Nasser Sohanpur, the former Ambassador of rmenia to Turkmenistan Aram Grigoryan, the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of YSU Ruben Melkonyan, the RA Scientific Secretary Levon Hovsepyan were present at the conference.
In his greeting speech Rector Aram Simonyan outlined the good relationship between Armenia and Turkmenistan and the interest of YSU in such conferences.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude for warm welcome and presented the details of the First Caspian Economic Forum to be held in “Avaza” National Tourist Zone of Turkmenistan to be held on August 11, 2019. The Caspian sea has a great significance in the spheres of economics and energetics, so serious responsibility is required to make the goals of the forum real.
The forum will be mutually beneficial for the development of economic ties between Turkmenistan and Armenia.
Those present watched a video about the Caspian coast of Turkmenistan.The gusts informed that a day before the forum, on August 11, 2019 there will be a meeting of ministers of the relevant authorities of the parties, discussion of the cooperation in the trade-economic and transport fields between the Caspian-littoral states, a meeting of the business circles of the Caspian-littoral countries as well as the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding on the creation of the Business Council of the Caspian-littoral states will be signed.
The Vice Ambassador of Iran to Armenia Ali Sobhanpur also attached importance to the role of the Caspian sea located on the border of Europe and Asia and urged to pay more attention to it.
At the end of the meeting Aram Grigoryan expressed gratitude to Turkmenistan for keeping and developing friendly relationship.
