PRESENTATION OF “ANTHOLOGY OF ARMENIAN SOCIOLOGICAL THOUGHT” BOOK: VALUABLE SOCIOLOGICAL HERITAGE DEDICATED TO 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF YSU
The presentation of the book entitled “Anthology of Armenian Sociological Thought” dedicated to the 100th jubilee of YSU foundation was held in the Session Hall of YSU Academic Council.
Deans of different faculties, heads of divisions, representatives of teaching staff and students were present at the event.
The book summarizes the sociological heritage of Armenian sociologists in the period of Armenian sociology development (from the middle of the 19th century up to the present).
Extracts from scientific articles, monographies of 80 Armenian authors published in the period from 1967 to 2018 which contain sociological analyses, methodological solutions. Fundamental issues of the national identity and historical memory are involved in the book.
The book was written by the Dean of the Faculty of Sociology of YSU, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Arthur Mkrtchyan and the head of the Chair of Theory and History of Sociology, PhD in Social Sciences, Associate Professor Harutyun Vermishyan.
The head of the Chair of Social Work and Social Technology, Associate Professor Yulianna Melkumyan noted that the anthology contains the most valuable articles of the sociological thought and is provided for the specialists, students and wide circles of society studying sociology and the history of Armenian sociology.
