SCHEDULE OF EVENTS DEDICATED TO 1OOTH ANNINVERSARY OF YSU FOUNDATION: SESSION OF YSU JUBILEE COMMISSION HAS BEEN HELD
The session of the Jubilee Commission coordinating the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Foundation of YSU was held today in the Centre for Information Technologies of Gyumri.
At the beginning of the session YSU Rector congratulated those present on the event.
Aram Simonyan stated that holding the jubilee year is not so easy and that there are no discussions on the state level regarding the Centennial.
The Rector also informed that the commission consists of 47 members but not all of them can take part in the session as the defense of final theses is being held in this period.
During the meeting Aram SImonyan presented the schedule of events organized by YSU on the Centennial of YSU.
International, republican and faculty conferences, lectures, seminars, meetings-discussions have already been held and will be held. Besides, a number of publications have been planned and some of them have already been issued.
The Department of Public Relations and Information of YSU is making a film dedicated to the 100th anniversary of YSU.
Referring to the celebrations scheduled for September YSU Rector noted that the arrival of foreign guests is planned for September 24-25, and the official events start on September 26.
On September 27, the international conference entitled “Higher Education, Research and Innovation in the 21st century” is to be held. Within the frames of the program cultural events and cognitive visits are planned a well.
YSU Rector informed that they turned to Yerevan Municipality with an application on naming streets in the capital after eminent universitarians. He also added that some building activities had already been performed and are being performed and improvement activities are being carried out as well.
The members of the commission discussed the program and came up with some proposals.
