“VOICE OF INDEPENDENCE GENERATION”: CONTEST-FESTIVAL AT YSU
The cultural contest-festival of Young Creators dedicated to the 100th anniversary of 100 started today in the Cultural Centre of YSU.
The contest-festival entitled “Voice of Independence Generation” held in the Cultural Centre of YSU on June 10-14 was organized by the Centre and involve a number of events including lectures.
Not only YSU but 12 higher educational institutions of Armenia including Artsakh and Vanadzor State universities are taking part in the event this year.
The Vice-Rector on Students, Alumni and Public Relations of YSU Ruben Markosyan, the director of YSU Cultural Centre Karine Davtyan, the RA Distinguished Artist Anna Harutyunyan, the Chairman of the national association “Armenian photographers” Sergey Hakobyan, the RA Distinguished Artist Ashot Hambardzumyan, cultural figures, musicians and artists were present at the event.
The ceremony of opening started with YSU anthem, then the band of the Cultural Centre of YSU presented its performances.
Greeting those present, Vice-Rector Ruben Markosyan thanked those who organized the event and expressed hope that this already traditional festival will expand its borders.
The participants of the first stage of the contest-festival were selected secretly, on the basis of materials sent via e-mail.
Accordingly, of 150 participants 75 ones were chosen in three directions: composing, literature, painting, photography and applied art.
The first stage was over with handing the certificates to the participants of painting and photography contest, and the jury announced the names of the winners in two mentioned nominations.
