NEW FINANCING FOR STUDENTS OF ASTROPHYSICS MASTER PROGRAM
The contract for allotting tuition fees for the students of Master program of Astrophysics was signed between YSU and the RA NAS.
YSU acting Rector Gegham Gevorgyan hosted the director of Byurakan observatory after Academician V. Hambardzumyan Areg Mikaelyan, the head of the chair of General Physics and Astrophysics after V. Hambardzumyan of YSU Faculty of Physics Ashot Gevorgyan and the head of “Astrophysics” Master program Emilia Karapetyan.
According to the signed contract, financial means are allotted to YSU from the international scientific prize after V. Hambardzumyan of 2018 for compensating the tuition fees of the students of “Astrophysics” Master program of 2019/2020 academic year.
Mr. Areg Manukyan who is also the secretary of the commission of the international scientific prize after V. Hambardzumyan informed that a part of the prize (USD 100.000) is given for the development of Astrophysics in Armenia.
He also added that three free places will be given to each course of “Astrophysics” in accordance with a competition. So, this specialization will attract more students and the Master program will contribute to the development of Astrophysics.
