FACULTY OF JOURNALSM SOLEMNLY MEETS ITS FRESHMEN
The ceremony of meeting the freshmen was held today at the Faculty of Journalism. The Dean of the Faculty Naghash Martirosyan, the Vice-Rector for Humanities and Social Sciences Elina Asriyan, tutors and students were present at the event.
The Dean greeted the entrants, congratulated them on the declaration of the Artsakh Republic and on starting the academic year.
Mt. Martirosyan claimed that at the Faculty of Journalism students can get theoretical and practical knowledge, gain necessary skills and build a career.
Vice-Rector Elina Asriyan stressed that this faculty is one of the best faculties of the university and turning to the students outlined that one of the most important missions of journalists is objectivity and impartiality which are rather lack today.
Then the third year student of the faculty Milena Movsesyan who won in “Battle of journalists” project was awarded with a bronze medal on behalf of YSU Rector.
The head of the chair of New Media and Communication David Petrosyan greeted the freshmen as well.
At the end of the event the ceremony of handing diplomas to the extramural 5th year students was held.
