YSU TEAMS GOT THE HIGHEST HORIZONS IN ARMENIA'S REGIONAL COMPETITION OF ICPC INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMMING OLYMPIAD COMPETITION
YSU participates in the world famous annual Olympiad organized by USA in 2000.
In a conversation with us, Vahram Dumanyan, the Dean of Informatics and Applied Mathematics and the Armenian Director of the Olympiad, said that this year for the first time the competition was held separately between Armenian universities.
17 teams from five universities (Yerevan State University, AUA, Yerevan State University, Artsakh University and Armenian-Russian University) participated in the Olympiad Armenian Regional Competition.
The teams of YSU have achieved good results and occupy the highest positions in the competition. Vahram Dumanyan told us that YSU teams with the support of the University will take part in the regional round of the Olympiad from November 29 to December 1 in Tbilisi.
Vahram Dumanyan is generally satisfied with the results of the competition.
He stated that the problems posed to the participants were of the same complexity as in St. Petersburg, where the team of the National Research University of Information Technology, Mechanics and Optics occupied the first place in the Olympics for seven years.
Vahram Dumanyan informed, that 2 teams of YSU will participate in the pre-competition meeting-discussion at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
