YSU CELEBRATED KOREAN CULTURE DAY
Before the start of the event the acting Rector of YSU Gegham Gevorgyan met the Delegation from Korea.

Gegham Gevorgyan stated that YSU is actively cooperating with the Republic of Korea, especially in the field of science and education.
The Acting Rector of YSU presented books to new Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Armenia Lee Sok-bae and other members of the delegation.
The new Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Armenia Lee Sok-bae thanked for the warm reception and mentioned that he had been to Armenia many times but only here he spoke his native language.
The new Ambassador also congratulated 100th anniversary of YSU.
He also mentioned, that Arthur Israyelyan, who coordinates the process of Korean studies, supports all the initiatives about Korean culture and language.
Arthur Israyelyan informed, that teaching of Korean started on November 1. 2018. ‘Today, we have 60 students, who are studying Korean as a second language.’said Mr. Israyelyan.
According to him it is planned not only to teach Korean at the university but also to develop Korean studies.
The ambassador said that the embassy would do its best to support all initiatives.
During the event, students, who are studying Korean, as well as representatives of the Korean Armenian community and those, who are interested in Korean culture, performed modern Korean songs and dances.
