YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan had a meeting with Armenian Deputy Minister of Finance Eduard Hakobyan to discuss the points of the recently signed cooperation memorandum and outline new cooperation programs. After the meeting, the deputy minister delivered a lecture to YSU students.
The memorandum of cooperation signed in 2023 established several key areas of collaboration aimed at jointly advancing the educational system, fostering multidisciplinary cooperative relations, enhancing the role of the scientific mind in the state financial system and fiscal policy implementation, strengthening the theoretical and practical knowledge of young professionals and deepening university-labor market relations.
After the meeting with the YSU rector, Eduard Hakobyan delivered a lecture on the topic "Modern System and Tools of Armenian Fiscal Policy".
Speaking about lecturing at YSU, Eduard Hakobyan assured that similar discourses will continue to be held: "We will try to share a part of our knowledge and experience with students through these lectures. It’s amazing that the audience is professional, ready to hear terms and get involved in large-scale professional discussions," the deputy minister noted.
The lecture consisted of 3 main sections. In the first part, the speaker presented the recent changes in Armenian fiscal policy. This was followed by an analysis and forecasts dedicated to the fiscal policy analysis system. The lecture concluded with a discussion on the fiscal risk assessment and management system.
Referring to the YSU-Finance Ministry cooperation areas and the goal of the meeting, Deputy Director of the YSU Alumni and Career Center Karine Nazaryan said: "The successful programs that have been implemented for the past year include student internships, the advancement of the educational process, and joint lectures. It’s important to note that students are highly interested in both the lectures and internship opportunities."
The meeting was organized through the joint efforts of the YSU Alumni and Career Center and the Chair of Actuarial and Financial Mathematics of the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics.
The interactive lecture was attended by students from the Economics and Management and the Mathematics and Mechanics faculties, as well as other interested individuals.
