The coach of the YSU shooting team is Vladimir Avagimyants, Head of the Chair of Physical Education and Sports, Professor, Honorary Worker of Physical Culture and Sports.
Many Eastern martial arts also teach medical sciences.

To inculcate a healthy lifestyle in students, to involve students in mass-participation sports events, as well as to contribute to the improvement of physical abilities and health, groups improving physical condition operate in YSU.
The coach of the athletic cross country group is Henrik Tumanyan, Professor at the Chair of Physical Education and Sports and RA master of sports.
The YSU boys’ team was recognized as the winner of the basketball championship in the 23rd Armenian Student Sports Games.
The YSU girls' team (3x3) won the 1st place in the 24th Armenian Student Sports Games.
The coach of the basketball teams is Vladimir Zakoyan, Professor at the Chair of Physical Education and Sports, RA master of sports, Lusine Melkonyan, lecturer at the chair, RA master of sports and Narek Ghukasyan, lecturer at the chair, RA master of sports.
There is also a boxing group at YSU.

The YSU team won the second game of the volleyball championship in the 23rd Armenian Student Sports Games.

The YSU students participated in the Armenian Badminton Championship.

As part of the 23rd Armenian Student Sports Games, the girls' table tennis championship was held, in which 8 university teams participated.
The YSU girls' team won first place in the 24th Armenian Student Sports Games.
The coaches of the YSU table tennis group are the hourly paid external coach at the Chair of Physical Education and Sport, RA master of sports Artur Poghosyan, lecturer at the chair, RA master of sports Narek Ghukasyan, lecturers at the chair, RA masters of sports Lusine Melkonyan, Diana Parvanyan, Arsen Galoyan, Karen Shahbazyan, Davit Minasyan.
In 2021, a meeting was held in the Charents Hall of Yerevan State University with European champions, gold medalists of the freestyle wrestling ranking tournament held in Budapest and freestyle wrestlers Arsen Harutyunyan and Vazgen Tevanyan who qualified for the 32nd Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo.

In 2018, YSU "Aparazh" Mountaineering Club held the All-Armenian Open Rock Climbing Championship with the support of the Armenian Mountaineering and Mountain Tourism Federation․
The coach of the group is Suren Sepanyan, rock climbing specialist at the Chair of Physical Education and Sports.
In 2019, the YSU chess team won first place in the chess tournament dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Student Council of the National Polytechnic University of Armenia and the 90th anniversary of Tigran Petrosyan.
The YSU chess team won the 2nd place in the competition held as part of the 24th Armenian Student Sports Games.
