About the program
The Undergraduate education of the Department of Arabic Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies is carried out according to the "Arabic Studies" educational program.
Program Admission Requirements
To be admitted to the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the applicant should pass two competitive exams: "Armenian History" (written) and "Armenian Language" (written) or "Foreign Language" (written).

The aim of the program
By receiving higher professional education, students acquire the necessary knowledge and practical skills to be sought-after and competitive specialists in the labor market. The duration of the "Arabic Studies" educational program is 4 years, during which students receive both general, professional, and narrow professional knowledge.
Within the framework of the "Arab Studies" program, students acquire the skills to perform translation work in literary Arabic (written and oral), study the general historical and cultural, ethnic, sociolinguistic, historical, and modern picture of the region, master the main scientific methods of the field of Oriental and Arabic studies, methods and models of the study of humanitarian thought.

The "Arabic Studies" educational program of the Faculty of Oriental Studies is the most popular educational program of its kind in the republic. The program consists of general, professional compulsory, and optional courses. The content of professional compulsory and optional courses refers to the analysis of current regional problems, Islamic studies, as well as linguistic and cultural studies.

Students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies become specialists meeting the requirements of the local and international market, who have the opportunity to work both in the state system and in the private sector. Arabic specialists are in demand at YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies, YSU Civilization and Cultural Research Center, Institutes of Oriental Studies and History of RA NAS, public secondary and high schools, organizations operating in RA and Arab countries, RA state agencies (RA President's Office, RA Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, RA National Security Service).
Graduates of the program have the opportunity to continue their studies at the Master's degree of YSU Faculty of Oriental Studies, and other higher professional institutions implementing educational programs in related specialties.
