About the program
The Undergraduate Education of the Chair of Turkology of the Faculty of Oriental Studies is carried out according to the "Turkology" educational program.
Admission requirements
To be admitted to the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the applicant should pass two competitive exams in the subjects "Armenian History" (written) and "Armenian Language" (written) or "Foreign Language" (written).

The aim of the program
By receiving higher professional education, students acquire the necessary knowledge and practical skills to be sought-after and competitive specialists in the labor market. The duration of the "Turkology" educational program is 4 years, during which students receive both general, professional, and narrow professional knowledge.
Within the framework of the "Turkology" educational program, students study the features of the literary, scientific, and spoken vocabulary of the Turkish and Azerbaijani languages, acquire written and simultaneous translation skills, and study the problems of the genealogy, history, literature, and modern political processes of the Turkic peoples. During study, students develop analytical abilities in terms of analyzing the history and current political issues of Turkey and Azerbaijan (in particular, the South Caucasus and the Middle East). Let us note that the faculty has a monopoly in the teaching of Azerbaijani language and Azerbaijani studies.

The "Turkology" educational program of the Faculty of Oriental Studies is the most popular educational program of its kind in the republic. It consists of general, professional compulsory, and optional courses. The content of professional compulsory and optional courses refers to the analysis of current regional problems, Turkic studies, as well as linguistic and cultural studies.
Career opportunities
Graduates can apply their professional knowledge in both public and private sectors. In particular, in the RA President's staff, the RA Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, the ESCS Ministry, the RA National Security Service, scientific and analytical fields, television and radio companies, tourism, and business. Some of the graduates have the opportunity to carry out scientific and educational activities in such important scientific centers of RA as RA National Academy of Sciences, Matenadaran named after M. Mashtots, Yerevan State University, and other state and private universities, and research centers.
