About the program
Undergraduate education in the specialty "Azerbaijani Studies" of the Turkic Studies Chair of the Faculty of Oriental Studies is carried out according to the "Azerbaijani Studies" educational program. Admission requirements
To be admitted to the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the applicant should pass two competitive exams: "Armenian History" (written) and "Armenian Language and Literature" (written) or "Foreign Language" (written).
The aim of the program
By receiving higher professional education, students acquire the necessary knowledge and practical skills to be a sought-after and competitive specialists in the labor market.
At the end of the program, the student will master the literary, scientific, military, and political vocabulary of the Azerbaijani language, and will be able to translate Azerbaijani and Turkish (military) texts. Students develop a clear understanding of the history, culture, and political systems of Turkic-speaking countries and peoples (especially Azerbaijan). Analytical capabilities are being formed in terms of analyzing the politics of Azerbaijan and Turkiye (in particular, the South Caucasus and the Middle East).
Advantages
The "Azerbaijani Studies" educational program of the Faculty of Oriental Studies is the most popular of its kind in the republic. The program consists of general, professional compulsory, and optional courses. The content of professional compulsory and optional courses refers to the analysis of current regional issues, as well as linguistic and cultural studies.
Career opportunities
Graduates can apply their professional knowledge in both public and private institutions. In particular, in the RA President's staff, in the RA Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, RA National Security Service, in scientific and analytical fields, as well as in TV and radio companies. Some of the graduates have the opportunity to carry out scientific and educational activities in such important scientific centers of RA as RA National Academy of Sciences, Matenadaran named after M. Mashtots, Yerevan State University, and other public and private universities, and research centers.
