Applied Psychology

The duration of the master's degree program is 2.5 years, the tuition fee is 560,000 AMD per year. Upon completion of the educational program, the student is awarded a master's degree in psychology in the specialty "applied psychology".

Admission requirements

The entrance exam is conducted orally according to the pre-prepared questionnaire tickets posted in the "Admission" section.

The aim of the program

The purpose of the program is to develop students' professional skills by providing knowledge and skills on topical issues of management and developmental psychology, modern approaches to solving them, to form students' professional knowledge and skills necessary for conducting psychodiagnostics, consulting, psychotherapeutic, educational and developmental work at different stages of personality development, to assess, predict, analyze psychological problems arising in organizations, human resource management, to organize and direct the activities of the organization through psychological counseling, to promote the development of professional knowledge and skills of students for professional activities in the field of management, organization, education (including inclusive education), health care and psychological services.

Advantages

The program consists of general and professional (compulsory and optional) courses, as well as a research module. In the general module, the student learns a foreign language and information technology in the professional field, learns skills and tools for organizing research. And in the professional module, the student studies various fields related to psychology, such as personality psychology, child, organizational, clinical psychology, both classical and modern areas of psychotherapy, acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge and skills. The research part consists of an internship and a master's thesis.

The internship of students of this master's program is of a research and practical nature and provides various opportunities for obtaining relevant knowledge and developing their professional skills and abilities. The internship is planned to be held in various institutions such as rehabilitation, psychological, medical, educational and research centers.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the program can continue their Ph.D. studies at the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology of YSU, conduct research, as well as work in educational, rehabilitation and psychological support centers.

Graduates of the “Management Psychology” program have the opportunity to get a job in government and non-government institutions (banks of the Republic of Armenia, IT HRM department, advertising agencies, international organizations implementing educational and social programs, television, relevant infrastructures of commercial, entrepreneurial, industrial organizations), holding the following positions.

• Consulting psychologist,
• Public relations infrastructure psychologist,
• Human resource management specialist,
• Coordinator of scientific and educational programs,
• Coordinator of social and psychological programs,
• Psychologist of the educational center,
• Psychologist of the development Center,
• Responsible official for training programs.
