Since 2016, professors and students from the Chair of Social Work and Social Technologies at Yerevan State University have actively participated in the International Social Work Week organized by the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, presenting Armenia's advancements in social work.
This year, during the international week (June 3-10), representatives of 17 universities from 30 countries of the world gathered in one place. The participants had the opportunity to listen to speeches and reports on social work education, research, technology of social services, political social work and other topics, as well as to go on field trips to various social services.
During the international week, Associate Professor Nune Geghamyan and lecturer Tatevik Karapetyan from the Chair of Social Work and Social Technologies presented the report "Community Centers of Social Work as Bases of Social Integration in Displacement Context". The report focused on the forced displacement of Artsakh's population in September 2023 and discussed the model of community centers of social work developed and applied in practice by the Armenian Association of Social Workers in response to this issue.
In the framework of the international week, new international connections were established to further expand the Faculty of Sociology's cooperation with European and American universities.
