About the program
The "American Studies" Master's degree program is implemented by the Center for American Studies established at YSU in 2020, in the framework of the "American Studies" program funded by the US Embassy in Armenia (US Department of State).
The Master's degree program is implemented within the framework of cooperation with Arizona State University, including the ASU (School of Social Transformation) teachers, as well as ASU researchers and professors from Fulbright programs. Moreover, the representatives of the teaching staff of the educational program visited Arizona State University to undergo a special training program and develop the courses included in the "American Studies" educational program.
Admission requirements
The entrance exam for the "American Studies" Master's degree program is oral.
Admission schedule for the 2023-2024 academic year
First phase
Documents are accepted from June 1-30, 2023, until 18:00.
The entrance exams will be held on July 4, 2023.
Second stage
Documents are accepted from July 3 to August 15, 2023, until 18:00.
The entrance exams will be held on August 22 and 23, 2023.
The aim of the program
The program is the first of its kind in the RA higher education system. It aims to train specialists who will be able to apply the acquired knowledge and abilities in practice in various fields related to the US: American politics and economy, media and public opinion, US government system and public policy, culture, geography, etc.

American Studies, as a separate discipline and Master's educational direction, is a long-established educational and academic field.

- Creation of professional career opportunities internationally in the field of relations, in international organizations related to the USA or operating under American auspices, in American cultural and public structures, as well as in the fields related to American business and corporate institutions,

- American society, regional politics, and American Armenian diaspora,
- US Constitution and Judicial System,
- US public and social media and mass communication,
- Social science research methods,
- Academic writing.
