Admission Requirements
The "International Courts and Arbitration" Master's program offers competitive admission opportunities for graduates holding a Bachelor's degree in Law or a qualification as a specialist in Law from RA state and private universities accredited by specialties or institutionally accredited, who possess an excellent command of the English language.
Program Objective
The educational program aims to familiarize students with the principles and foundations of international law and provide them with in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of international courts and arbitral proceedings. The program seeks to present the role, activities, and characteristics of various international legal dispute resolution bodies, covering the different stages of international legal dispute resolution, from negotiations to the recognition and enforcement of final judgments. Additionally, the program evaluates the role of domestic law in resolving international legal disputes and seeks to develop written and oral argumentation skills.
Advantages
Upon completion of the program, the student will be able to analyze issues and questions related to the theory and practice of international law, present the role, activities, and characteristics of various international legal dispute resolution bodies, explain the various stages of international legal dispute resolution- from negotiations to the recognition and enforcement of final judgments- evaluate the general and distinguishing features of domestic and international law, evaluate the role of domestic law in resolving international legal disputes, prepare procedural documents in the prescribed format (claims, responses to claims, motions, objections, etc.), represent and defend the client's interests based on oral argumentation skills, and conduct legal research and studies.
Career Opportunities
Graduates can pursue professional activities in government institutions (such as the Government of the Republic of Armenia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Office of the Human Rights Defender, and others), organizations engaged in foreign investments, law firms, legal consulting offices, private companies, non-governmental organizations, international organizations, and more.
Graduates of the educational program may continue their post-graduate studies at the Yerevan State University (YSU) in the doctoral or postgraduate programs.
