From September 26 to November 11, the YSU Faculty of Biology will host Professor Sergey Ilyich Kolesnikov, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Head of the Department of Ecology and Nature Management at the Southern Federal University (Russia), as part of a YSU internal grant.
Under the framework of the internal grant titled "Phytomelioration as a Perspective Approach to Sustainable Use of Soils Contaminated by Heavy Metals in Mining Districts of RA" (Head: Dr. Karen Ghazaryan), Professor Kolesnikov is delivering lectures to students in the "Biology" bachelor's program on the topics "Ecology and Rational Use of Natural Resources-2" and "Ecotoxicology."
In the course "Ecology and Rational Use of Natural Resources-2", the professor emphasizes the importance of preserving, restoring, and improving the ecological balance of natural resources and systems, as well as the newest approaches required to address these challenges.
In the "Ecotoxicology" course, Professor Kolesnikov addresses environmental pollution and related ecological issues, highlighting the latest methods for the rational use and restoration of natural resources in our rapidly developing world.
Lectures involve active discussions and debates with students.
Professor Kolesnikov's visit represents another significant step for the YSU Faculty of Biology in exchanging cutting-edge methods and experiences on an international platform and establishing new collaborative ties.
