About the program
Admission requirements

The aim of the program
The program aims to:
- Impart deep professional knowledge of modern achievements in fundamental and applied fields of genetics and genomics, as well as new methods and technologies,
- Prepare specialists capable of conducting scientific studies, who will meet the modern requirements of the labor market with their theoretical and practical skills, and will be able to apply modern methods of genetics in practice, to carry out pedagogical activities in schools and higher education institutions.
Advantages
The program consists of general, professional compulsory, and optional courses.
Teaching methods include both traditional (lectures, laboratory work, and seminars) and modern (interactive) ones.
According to the agreement signed between YSU and Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, the best students will be sent to Germany for educational purposes. Master's degree students undergo an internship at the YSU Faculty of Biology, the Institute of Molecular Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia in the laboratories of cellular technologies, microbial genomics, human genomics, Fertility Center, and Davidians’ Laboratories.
Career opportunities
The graduates of the "Genomics and Medical Cell Genetics" educational program can continue their education at YSU and other (including foreign) universities.
Graduates will also be able to work in educational and research institutions successfully.
