YSU students were granted the Tabibyan family scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year
A meeting was held in the YSU Academic Council session hall during which the results of the announced scholarship competition for the 2023-2024 academic year were summarized.
At the beginning of the year, YSU announced a scholarship competition by the Tabibyan Family Foundation, to which 15 students applied. Two of the contestants, Sergey Mkrtchyan and Ani Avagyan, 3rd-year students of the Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics, were awarded scholarships. In total, scholarships were provided to 4 students from different universities of the republic.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of the YSU International Cooperation Department, Alexander Markarov, presented the university's long-term activities, including all the programs and opportunities that the university offers to students.
Hunan Arshakyan, the president of the "Knights of Vardanants" organization, noted that the Tabibyan family gave preference to students with good progress in the field of high technologies when choosing scholarship students.
He urged the students to use the knowledge gained at the university for the benefit of the motherland.
During the meeting, scholarship holders and representatives of the foundation discussed a number of issues related to the education and future of students. Reference was also made to the challenges in the field of education and ways to face them. In particular, the issue of continuing education at the Master's level or entering the labor market among young people after receiving an undergraduate education was discussed.
YSU pays great attention to this issue, especially recently cooperative relations with Armenian and international organizations have been expanded, periodic meetings have been organized with representatives of the business sector, and the university-labor market connection has been strengthened and developed with the efforts of the YSU Alumni and Career Center. At the same time, YSU students have the opportunity to use various programs, including scholarship ones.
Sergey Mkrtchyan, a student of the "Information Security Department" of the Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics of YSU, emphasizing the motivation for applying for the scholarship, said that by applying for the program, he tried to present a project that, if implemented, would develop the field of information technologies in Gegharkunik marz. Sergey emphasized that he is from Gegharkunik, and his plans are also related to the development and progress of the Marz.
Scholarship recipient Ani Avagyan is studying in the computer science department.
"I learned about the scholarship through the university email. Since the organization was interested in our field, I decided to apply. My main goal is to apply the knowledge I received at YSU in Armenia and for the benefit of Armenia," said Ani, referring to the motivations for applying for the announced competition for the scholarship.
It should be noted that YSU, in cooperation with other foundations and organizations that provide scholarships, regularly announces competitions aimed at supporting students, as well as aiming to root education as an absolute value in their thinking.
