A collection of scientific articles related to Soviet-Armenian culture published at YSU
The presentation of the collection of scientific articles "Soviet Armenian Culture։ concept, perceptions and manifestations" published at the YSU publishing house took place at the YSU Faculty of History.
In 2018, the reports of the international conference entitled "The Concept of Soviet Armenian Culture" organized by the Chair of Culturology, the Faculty of History, YSU were summarized in this collection, which puts into scientific circulation new studies and analyzes on the history and culture of Armenia during the Soviet years.
The articles related to a number of humanities and social science disciplines cover the various phenomena included in the concept of Soviet Armenian culture: the Soviet cultural policy, the protest culture and identities of Soviet citizens, the Soviet perceptions and developments of intellectuals and art, transformations of religion during the age of atheism, the study of the residue of Soviet industrial culture, etc.
Yulia Antonyan, Associate Professor of the Chair of Culturology, the Faculty of History, YSU, Candidate of Historical Sciences, compiler and professional editor of the collection, referring to the uniqueness of the collection, emphasized, "Researches with new methodologies and approaches related to the Soviet years have been conducted in Armenia only recently, while in many post-Soviet countries this topic has been researched for 32 years following the collapse of the USSR. Hence, the authors of these scientific articles are pioneers in Soviet research conducted in Armenia, which further emphasizes the importance of the collection."
The collection is addressed to cultural anthropologists, sociologists, historians, artists, literary scholars and specialists in other humanitarian disciplines. Those interested have the opportunity to purchase the book from the YSU Sarkis and Marie Izmirlian Library or download the electronic version from the website of the YSU publishing house.
It should be noted that the authors of the scientific articles of the collection, representatives of the YSU Faculty of History and professional field, students and those interested in the topic were present at the presentation.
