YSU strengthens partnership ties with the University of Warsaw
Yerevan State University hosted the delegation of the Centre for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw. The purpose of the meeting was to raise awareness about the center and discuss cooperation prospects.
At the meeting with the representatives of different educational departments of YSU, the guests presented the activities of the Center for Eastern European Studies, educational and research programs, opportunities for scholarships available for YSU students and professors, in particular, two-week summer and winter schools for students, a two-year master's program, a one-year research program for researchers and a five-month research program for faculty members.
The Head of the delegation, the Director of the Center for Eastern European Studies, Jan Malitsky, emphasizing the importance of the visit to Yerevan State University, noted, "Previously, together with our colleagues at YSU, we actively implemented various scientific and educational programs, held conferences, mutual visits and professional discussions, but the difficult period caused by coronavirus interrupted this cooperation. This visit is aimed at restoring and strengthening our partnership ties."
Diana Brutyan, member of the delegation, scholarship coordinator of the Center for Eastern European Studies, applied to the center's scholarship master's program years ago and has been working at the center for 20 years.
Emphasizing the effectiveness of the meeting with YSU colleagues, Diana Brutyan noted. "Thanks to the discussions, faculty members from the universities found common scientific interests and reached agreements to cooperate in the future to jointly conduct scientific research, publish scientific articles, hold conferences, etc. We hope that after the meeting, the number of Armenian students applying for the center's scholarship programs will increase, because, in contrast with the other countries in the region, few students apply from Armenia."
It should be noted that faculty members from YSU Faculties of International Relations, History and Sociology, Center for European Studies and Institute of Armenian Studies were present at the meeting. The meeting was organized by YSU International Cooperation Department.
