YSU receives "HR Excellence in Research" award
The Human Resources Strategy for Researchers developed and implemented at YSU meets international standards. The "HR Excellence in Research" award is the proof of that, which will contribute to the internationalization process of YSU.
Educational institutions that have received this award are more attractive to foreign researchers looking for partners to carry out joint research projects.
Yeranuhi Manukyan, Head of YSU Scientific Policy Department, noted that in order to obtain the award, they submitted a 117-page analysis to the EURAXESS pan-European researchers' platform, which included the regulations of the competition for researchers, including an open and transparent recruitment process for researchers, the formula for calculating the index of scientific activity (for example, the number of scientific publications of YSU scientists in international scientometric databases, the number of articles published in ranking journals, the number of references to scientific publications in international journals, the number of post-graduate students the scientist has, the management of startups by scientists), the frequency of organizing international conferences at university, ensuring a scientific environment (including receipt of modern equipment), gender equality at YSU.
To obtain the "HR Excellence in Research" award, the YSU working team of "Minerva" project also regularly visited various European research centers, in particular, the universities of France, Moldova and Belgium, where they discussed with international experts the challenges in YSU and ways to overcome them, which were also presented in the analysis.
Yeranuhi Manukyan, who studied the experience of foreign universities, emphasized that this award, among other key functions, will contribute to the improvement of YSU's ranking in the ranking of world universities.
In "QS World University Rankings", YSU ranks 415th among 690 European institutions, it is the first among 3 Armenian institutions and ranks 1001-1200 in the world.
It should be noted that the award is issued to YSU for two years. The University is committed to continuous improvement of its human resources policy in accordance with the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.
The steps taken to become a member of EURAXESS and receive the "HR Excellence in Research" award were launched in 2019 within the framework of the "Minerva" project of the "Erasmus+" program ("Strengthening of Research Management and Open Science Capabilities of HEIs in Moldova and Armenia").
