YSU students participate in award ceremony of creative contest dedicated to Sergey Parajanov
Charles Aznavour Culture Center of YSU, aiming to promote the active involvement of YSU students in prestigious international competitions, ensures the participation of students in culture-creating programs, competitions and other events.
On January 9, on the birthday of the famous film director Sergey Parajanov, the awarding ceremony of the traditional creative contest dedicated to Parajanov was held in Tbilisi Sakrebulo․ The students of Charles Aznavour Culture Center were also among the participants and they received certificates of participation.
Representatives of Ivane Javakhishvili State University, Ilia State University and Tbilisi State Academy of Arts also presented their creative works at the contest.
Within the framework of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Sergey Parajanov, the "Voice of the Independence Generation" republican student competition of young creators was organized, during which the students of Charles Aznavour Culture Center of YSU presented their photographic, painting, works of applied art, photo collages, as well as literary compositions. The best works dedicated to Parajanov and created in the Parajanov style were sent to Georgia to be presented at the exhibition.
It should also be noted that in the area adjacent to the statue of Parajanov (Tbilisi), the animation created by one of the young creative students of Charles Aznavour Culture Center was shown, in which 377 pictures of Parajanov were included.
Karine Davtyan, Director of Charles Aznavour Cultural Center, speaking about Parajanov as a genius and creative personality, noted that there are very few directors like him in the world film industry who create culture.
Emphasizing the importance of participating in the contest, Karine Davtyan emphasized. "The competition has been held for 10 years, but no individual or organization from Armenia has ever participated in it. YSU was the first to represent Armenia in that contest. We also presented the work of one of the students, Eline Poghosyan, to the Sakrebulo Museum, in the form of a collage, which will have its own place in the museum."
Armen Bayanduryan, the Chief Director of Petros Adamian Tbilisi State Armenian Drama Theatre, Ara Babajanyan, representatives of the Armenian community, teachers, artists, painters and statesmen were also present at the award ceremony.
