Professor from Lille University visits YSU
A meeting with Tariel Danielyan, Professor from the University of Lille (France), took place at YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology, during which the professor presented the programs and opportunities as part of the cooperation between the two universities within the framework of "Erasmus+".
Tariel Danielyan, professor in the Faculty of Technology at the University of Lille, arrived in Armenia at the invitation of YSU Faculty of Biology and A.L. Takhtajan Institute of Botany of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences.
Emphasizing cooperation with Armenian scientists and the opportunities provided by YSU, T. Danielyan noted that YSU is moving in line with the development and innovation of science.
"We are working with our YSU colleagues to educate and guide young researchers, to establish knowledgeable specialists. Cooperation with YSU and Armenian National Academy of Sciences professors is necessary since joint work helps to achieve tangible results," said T. Danielyan.
As part of the visit, the professor from the University of Lille gave lectures on "The Role of Fossil Organisms in Earth, Life and Evolutionary Sciences" and "The Importance of Stratigraphy for Mass Extinctions and Past Changes in the Earth's Climate".
YSU has cooperated with the University of Lille since 2019. Areas of cooperation include the Faculties of Geography and Geology, Biology, European Languages and Communication. During the professor's visit as part of the "Erasmus+" program, the jointly implemented projects were discussed, and further plans were outlined. Now a new program is being prepared with the partner university, which will expand the cooperation directions.
"Erasmus+" program is a student, lecturer and administrative staff exchange program. Lecturers take a business trip to partner universities to give lectures and present their research studies conducted with joint efforts.
YSU has cooperation agreements with more than 200 scientific and educational institutions across 50 countries of the world and continues to expand the circle of partners, including new universities and new fields of study.
