YSU as uniting bridge for graduates: 40 years later, back in auditorium
Keeping the established tradition, the graduates of YSU Informatics and Applied Mathematics Faculty of 1979-1984 gathered at the faculty to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their graduation. The classmates reminisced about the remarkable events and stories and their active student life, as well as toured their familiar auditoriums.
The hall was in a lively bustle as old friends greeted each other with warm hugs. For many, this meeting was a journey back in time, an opportunity to reminisce about the days spent learning algorithms, solving complex equations, and pushing the boundaries of thought.
No matter how diverse the life paths of the classmates who graduated from the university 40 years ago, one thing remains unchanged: their love for the university and the memories of their time there. This meeting was a testament to the strong bond forged in the academic crucible.
The friendship formed during the student years has grown into a strong friendship today, with YSU serving as the connecting link once again.
Among the 1984 graduates of the Faculty of Informatics and Applied Mathematics is Professor Vahram Dumanyan, a lecturer at the Chair of Numerical Analysis and Mathematical Modeling. He takes the lead in gathering his classmates under one roof and regularly organizing such gatherings.
"Exactly 5 years ago, we gathered again in this same auditorium. I consider this our achievement, as it proves the strong friendship and mutual respect among us. Our beloved professors, who laid the foundation for the faculty's growth, are also here with us today," said V. Dumanyan.
Speaking about the role of the university, Vahram Dumanyan mentioned: "It has been 40 years since graduating from the university and 45 years since entering the university. I consider myself fortunate, having begun my journey here in 1979 and continuing it to this day, engaging with both my professors and young students brimming with new ideas. I want to emphasize that our university always welcomes and is prepared to bring together students of all times under one roof."
The professors who taught the graduates and continue to impart knowledge to current students were invited to the gathering. Once more, they stood at the lectern, while the graduates reminisced about their university years from their seats in the student benches.
The meeting was an opportunity not only to recall the interesting events of the student days, but also to engage in professional discussions, ranging from artificial intelligence and equipment mechanization to the development of a fast-paced digital landscape.
The discussion was followed by a tour of the university. It awakened fond memories of the university with a fresh breath of educational, scientific and student life.
The event ended with a promise to meet again.
