YSU STEM High School students win medals at 4th International Applied Biology Olympiad
YSU STEM High School students achieved outstanding success at the 4th International Applied Biology Olympiad (IABO), securing gold and silver medals. Mariam Galstyan earned a gold medal, while Nane Ananikyan received a silver medal.
Armenian representatives won 2 gold, 5 silver and 1 bronze medals at the 4th International Applied Biology Olympiad held in Bali (Indonesia) from June 20-23.
Among the members of the team representing the Republic of Armenia, Mariam Galstyan, a 10th-grade student from YSU STEM High School, and Aram Kerobyan, an 11th-grade student from Quantum College, won gold medals. Nane Ananikyan, a 10th-grade student from YSU STEM High School, Ara Melkonyan and Hrachya Sevoyan, both 11th-grade students from Quantum College, Ani Gevorgyan, a 9th-grade student from Quantum College, and Elen Danielyan, a 10th-grade student from High School №10 in Hrazdan, Kotayk Province, won silver medals. Hayk Harutyunyan, a 10th-grade student from Quantum College, won a bronze medal.
The participants initially competed online, passing two preliminary stages to qualify for the final stage.
Notably, all 8 students representing the 3 educational institutions of Armenia in the final stage won medals.
It is important to note that according to Armenian government decision N 597-N, the prize winners of the International Applied Biology Olympiad are granted university admission without entrance exams.
