From childhood dream to success as YSU Best Student-2024 winner
Emma Noninyan, a master's student from the Faculty of Armenian Philology, is one of the winners of the YSU Best Student-2024 Competition. Although she has aspired to participate for years, Emma decided to apply only this year.
"My feelings are pleasant, and the title gives me a sense of obligation," says YSU student Emma Noninyan. In the interview with us, Emma talked about her university education, the irreplaceable role YSU has played in her achievements, and her future plans.
When I was admitted to YSU…
Studying at YSU was a childhood dream of mine. My parents always held YSU in high regard, and now, I can confidently say that choosing the YSU Faculty of Armenian Philology has been one of the best decisions of my life.
Education is a crucial component of life, and the quality of where and from whom you receive it is central to your development.
I listened to my parents' advice when choosing my profession, but ultimately, I made the final decision myself. Although I had never considered pursuing the Armenian language and literature, I chose philology from among various fields. This decision may have been influenced by the fact that my mother is an expert in German and my grandmother (my father's mother) is an expert in Armenian language and literature. In the end, it seems that the 'linguistics gene' from my mother and grandmother prevailed.
Education on the pathway of life…
Of course, education is a crucial prerequisite for achieving goals, but it also requires strong will, determination, and a passion for life. During my studies, I had the opportunity to serve as both an organizer and a participant in various conferences, Olympiads, scientific seminars, and competitions.
Since my first year, I have actively participated in two student organizations: the Student Scientific Society (SSS) and the Student Council (SC). I served as the SC Secretary for about a year and led the SSS of the Faculty of Armenian Philology for two years. Currently, I am the Secretary of the YSU SSS. These organizations have been instrumental in shaping my university experience and have become invaluable to me.
Achievements as a stepping stone to progress
The most important achievement of my life is my family - first, the one I was born into, and then the one I created. Both my parents and my husband are always by my side and support me in all aspects of my life.
Now...
I am engaged in professional activity. I work at the "Classic School" educational foundation and the "Scientific Research Development Center" as a qualified specialist and junior researcher.
After completing my studies, I am eager to continue my educational journey. I believe in letting my actions speak louder than words, working diligently every day to achieve success.
Scientific activity is my favorite pursuit, even though I currently have only one published article. However, I am actively working on two more. In addition to my research, I also engage in writing and editing books. My journey has been both meaningful and challenging, and these experiences deepen my sense of responsibility to continue my journey and explore new horizons.
