New development opportunities in mining sector: letter of intent signed
Today, YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and Sasun Avetisyan, General Director of Kapan Mining and Processing Combine CJSC, signed a letter of intent to cooperate in the preparing, training, and qualification upgrading of professionals in geology, hydrogeology, mining, metallurgy, and related fields. This partnership will also encompass scientific research and other initiatives.
Within the framework of this cooperation, joint research and educational programs are planned, including the exchange of expertise between the Faculty of Geography and Geology and the specialists of the combine.
Additionally, YSU students will have the opportunity to undergo professional internships at the combine, using the company's production facilities. Practical courses and experimental work in mining will also be organized for students. High-achieving students may also secure employment at the combine.
YSU Rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan emphasized the university's commitment to creating new opportunities for its students and researchers. He assured that this partnership with Kapan Mining and Processing Combine will provide students with essential practical skills, enhancing their professional growth and competitiveness in the labor market.
"In combining the potential of our two institutions, we aim to develop solutions for existing challenges in the mining sector and to improve production processes through innovative approaches," the YSU rector said.
Sasun Avetisyan, General Director of Kapan Mining and Processing Combine CJSC, also emphasized that the stable and long-term development of the mining industry relies on the integration of high-quality specialists and innovative technologies.
"This cooperation is aimed at ensuring the training of leading specialists and the introduction of innovative solutions in our production processes. Partnering with YSU allows us to attract well-versed specialists who possess both solid academic knowledge and practical skills, enabling them to contribute immediately to our operations and the ongoing development of the company and sector," stated Sasun Avetisyan.
