Workshop as part of DEvision project held at YSU
From October 28 to November 1, 2024, Yerevan State University hosted the Project Management & Monitoring Workshop as part of the "DEvision: Digitally Connecting Real and Virtual Environments" project. The event brought together academic and industry experts from Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Austria.
This gathering combined workshops, presentations, and field activities to explore innovative approaches in mapping, data collection, and digital learning.
The program began with a seminar on mapping Yerevan's heritage using the CAC portal, led by Manfred Mittlböck, Senior Scientist at the Department of Geoinformatics-Z-GIS, the University of Salzburg, and Mariam Petrosyan, a PhD student at YSU Faculty of Geography and Geology.
The seminar was followed by a meeting with Rainer Einzenberger, Coordinator of the APPEAR Program, during which the status, progress, and achievements of the "DEvision" project were presented. Highlights included hands-on sessions such as "Quick Capture My_City_TOUR" and an external modules review.
On October 30, participants embarked on a field trip to Lake Sevan to contribute data to OpenStreetMap.
On the final day of the workshop, the research projects conducted by PhD students from Yerevan State University and the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia were presented.
The event was an exceptional platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and exploring the synergy between digital and physical mapping environments.
