The key to success lies not only in the education you receive but in continuous self-education – YSU student Emma Noninyan
Emma Noninyan, a second-year master’s student at YSU Faculty of Armenian Philology, enrolled in the "History and Linguistics of the Armenian Language" Master's program, regards the pursuit of continuous education and specialization, alongside the acquisition of new knowledge, skills, and experience, as central to her goals. Emma emphasizes the importance of self-education in the journey to becoming a well-versed specialist, as it opens new doors in the academic realm and fosters the development of professional expertise.

Among the winners of the 2024 competition for awarding named scholarships to the top-performing students of Armenian universities is Emma Noninyan, a second-year master's student at YSU Faculty of Armenian Philology. She shares how her value system has evolved during her student years and how she plans to continue her professional journey by setting new goals and priorities. It is worth noting that Emma Noninyan has also been recognized as the winner of the YSU Best Student-2024 Competition.
Speaking about her successes and educational journey, Emma Noninyan mentions that, although the time gap between this and previous competitions is not long, she has already achieved new successes in this short period by participating in scientific events and social projects.
"New conferences, new presentations, new social, educational, and professional successes... I will soon complete my master's degree and will continue to pursue my goals one by one," she emphasizes.
It is important to be fully dedicated to your profession, to study, and to apply what you've learned practically...
According to Emma, there have been many challenges during her studies, public activities, and work, which she has embraced with love, realizing that overcoming them makes her stronger and more accomplished.

"One of my important goals is to become a qualified and competitive specialist. Recently, I presented a report as a junior researcher at the International Conference on Medieval Studies organized by Matenadaran, which was another significant step in the field of science," she says.
One of Emma's dreams has been to become a good teacher or lecturer, and education and work help her fulfill those dreams. She is convinced that the guarantee of a good future for anyone is not only the education they receive but also continuous self-education, never stopping to move forward, and not being limited by what they have.
The formation of a value system starts from the family and continues at school and university...
"I am also indebted to my family in this regard, and then to Odzun Secondary School №1, where my future successes were shaped, where they were the first to believe in me and gave me wings. Even during my university years, they have always been by my side and sincerely rejoiced in every success of mine. And today, I proudly say that I am a graduate of Odzun Secondary School №1. The next important link is Yerevan State University, where my value system was further strengthened, and I began to better understand both myself and the people around me. My professors taught me never to back down, to seek new ways to move forward. The decision to pursue higher education at YSU is one of the best decisions of my life," Emma shares.
Talking about the most important values for her, Emma emphasizes: "Love your family and your homeland, dedicate yourself to your profession. These are the inseparable values that guide the path of my life."
Emma also completed the unfinished sentences in the "Student Diary" questionnaire as follows:
During my studies, I was truly surprised by the strength of my will.
I consider success not only the result achieved but also the path taken to get there, during which your strengths multiply.
A significant victory is when you manage to achieve the goals you set for yourself.
The biggest lesson I learned during my student years was not to underestimate my own abilities and to believe in my strength.
If I could go through my student journey again, I wouldn't change anything.
University life has taught me to fight.
No matter what, I will always remember that I am grateful to YSU for my achieved successes.
