COMBINING FAMILY AND EDUCATION. INTERVIEW WITH YSU FACULTY OF BIOLOGY STUDENT
Eliza Yeghshatyan is an Undergraduate student at the YSU Faculty of Biology. The scope of the conversation with her includes topics related to professional interests, the significant role of the university in the establishment of a specialist, as well as upcoming programs.
- Eliza, let us start the conversation with the traditional question related to the profession and the university. How did you "appear" at YSU biology faculty?
- Ever since my school years, I tried to study life and living organisms in detail, their physical and chemical structure, functions, and development. That desire was awakened in me thanks to my teacher, who was a role model for me. She assured me that while studying at YSU, I would study various fields of modern biology, so I chose the university without hesitation and was successfully admitted to the Faculty of Biology. My expectations were met here.
- However, from our initial conversation, it became clear that you are particularly interested in physiology among the fields of biology. Can you elaborate on what made you interested in that field?
- Of course! The field of physiology interested me because it provides an opportunity to study the mechanical, physical, and biochemical processes of living organisms as a whole. This is the reason why I decided to get narrow professional knowledge in the subjects of the Department of Human and Animal Physiology.
- Our previous interlocutors in this series of interviews had their approaches to combining education and family. I wonder how you manage to do it.
- I cannot say that combining education and family is easy, but when you want your children to have a prosperous future, you start facing difficulties and overcoming them. I have an inner conviction that it is possible to contribute to the creation of the desired future through education. I think the role of educated mothers in this matter is invaluable. Perhaps it is this idea that has inspired me for a long time not to give up and successfully combine studies and family.
- Apart from the fact that the university provided higher education for about four years, what other role did it play in your development as an individual?
- The question is relevant because the university is not just an institution that provides education. Here I have met individuals who have instilled in me lofty ideas. Thanks to communicating with them, my worldview has expanded, I have gained new knowledge, and my outlook on life, beliefs, etc. have changed.
- What plans and goals do you have in the future?
- My main goal is to become a specialist who will have comprehensive knowledge of the field, so after completing the Bachelor's degree, I intend to enrich my knowledge in the Master's degree.
