A meeting of the Board of Trustees of YSU took place during which issues and decisions included in the agenda were discussed.
Gevorg Muradyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, explained why the issue of choosing a rector is not on the agenda of today's meeting.
‘We can announce a competition in January, which means that in mid-March we will have the rector of YSU elected‘: he said.
The Board of Trustees elected a new secretary, unanimously approving the candidacy of Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of YSU, Grigor Hayrapetyan.
The Board of Trustees adopted recommendations on the establishment of centers. Rafael Barkhudaryan, Vice-Rector for Natural and Exact Professions of YSU, presented the initiative to create the YSU Business School, which was approved by the Board of Trustees.
The Board of Trustees discussed the incident on December 24 at YSU when David Apoyan was taken from the central building with handcuffs as a witness.
During the meeting, the participants unanimously condemned the actions of the RA police and supported the proposal to make a joint statement. After discussion, it was decided to make the following statement.
Then, on the last item on the agenda, it was decided to create a committee to select the rector, which included David Apoyan, Arthur Vagharshyan, Smbat Gogyan, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan and Gevorg Muradyan.
