THE PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE. "TOPAS" MEETING AT YSU

Aram Arakelyan, Head of the Chair of Mathematical Modeling in Economics, Coordinator of the TOPAS Program at YSU, welcomed the participants.

He said that the meeting aims to form a discussion mainly on theoretical education in agriculture field and the application of all that in the agriculture field.

“This program that promotes the practical application of theoretical knowledge to students has been started in 2017. This is the 6th meeting”: said the head of the chair.

A. Arakelyan said that the work done within the framework of the program is being collected and will soon be ready for presentation.

Concluding his speech, he thanked the organizers of the event.

YSU Vice-rector Elina Asrian also welcomed the guests.

She said, that she is very happy for this information meeting, which took place in the framework of the Erasmus + project.

"According to alumni surveys, graduates generally complain of a lack of practical knowledge, and this gap may be filled if the teaching will be based on work": said Elina Asrian.

Project Coordinator Prof. Ralf Schlaudere  mentioned that he is happy to meet the international colleagues at YSU.

“The topic we have chosen is very actual. In order to have advanced agriculture, one must have in-depth knowledge and trained staff. It is desirable that researchers in this field collaborate with manufacturing companies to acquire practical skills ”:he said.

He also talked about changing teaching methods and the need to improve them, and told about the online training they developed.

Head of Erasmus+ Office in Armenia Mrs. Lana Karlova noted that this is a program on how theoretical knowledge is transformed into practical skills.
