YEGHISHE KIRAKOSYAN DELIVERED A SPEECH FOR THE STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF JOURNALISM
Yeghishe Kirakosyan, the representative of the Republic of Armenia in the European Court of Human Rights, was hosted today at YSU Faculty of Journalism.
Dean of the Faculty Naghash Martirosyan, lecturers and students were present at the meeting.
Welcoming the guest, Naghash Martirosyan noted that such meetings are important in terms of receiving up-to-date and necessary information on the field, listening to professional opinion.
"Knowledge conveyed in the format of non-formal education helps future journalists to properly cover and interpret the legal processes that take place in reputable international bodies", he said.
The students of the faculty had the opportunity to receive detailed information on the lawsuits filed by the ECHR Armenia regarding the consequences of the 44-day Artsakh war and numerous human rights violations.
Gayane Abrahamyan, a lecturer at the faculty, noted that such meetings and talks with experts and officials in the field are organized within the course of the "International
Journalism and International Organizations" .
"Meetings are a non-formal educational platform for students, they provide an opportunity to listen to professional lectures, as well as to send questions to specialists in the field," she said.
