• Admission
Admission is carried out in accordance with the admission regulation approved by the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
For admission, applicants take exams of their choice in two of the following subjects: "Biology", "Physics" or "Chemistry".
• Aim of the programme
To prepare highly qualified specialists in Pharmacy in complience with international standards, who will gain field-related fundamental knowledge, abilities and practical skills, which will enable them to provide the full range of pharmaceutical services in various branches of pharmacy (public health, industrial drugs production, health centers, drugs expert centers, laboratories, etc.).
• Learning outcomes of the programme
At the end of the programme student will be able to:
Knowledge
- Present the features of professional activity, topical and fundamental concepts, theories and methods of study in pharmacy, health care and adjacent fields.
- Present the principles of design, creation, production, analysis, circulation of drugs and pharmaceutical raw materials.
- Define the fundamentals of research work in pharmacy, healthcare, biomedical and adjacent fields.
Skills
- Demonstrate innovative and advanced approaches by applying the acquired knowledge to solve unpredicted problems that arise in the process of professional work or learning in pharmacy, healthcare and adjacent fields.
- Present and explain information, arguments, ideas, tasks and solutions related to the fields of pharmacy and healthcare to colleagues, other specialists from the field of healthcare and the public.
- Collect, store, work out, analyze, interpret and present information to facilitate work in order to solve professional issues through using modern information technologies.
Abilities:
- Reveal and solve professional problems through elaborating critical thinking, investigational and creative approach (on the basis of analysis and synthesis).
- Work in team and cooperate effectively with team members, respecting the norms of ethics and conduct.
- Use legal documents of the professional sphere.
- Implement and manage professional functions and programs in unpredictable work or study environment, taking responsibility for individuals in team work.
- Define further professional development or work paths.

• Career opportunities for graduates
Graduates of "Pharmacy" bachelor's degree study programme can work in the following structures operating in pharmacy and adjacent professional fields:
- Public and hospital Drug stores (pharmacist),
- Bodies and structures regulating the sphere of drugs circulation (Ministry of Health of the RA, healthcare inspection body, expert center for medicine and medical technologies, etc.),
- Drugs manufacturing,
- Armenian representative offices of foreign suppliers/pharmaceutical manufacturers (pharmacist-representative),
- Scientific research institutions and universities,
- Other areas requiring pharmaceutical education.
Graduates of the programme can continue their studies in the specialty of "Pharmacy" both in the master's degree programme of YSU Institute of Pharmacy and in master's degree programmes of different professional institutes of YSMU and NAS of the RA, American University of Armenia, etc.

There are three professional chairs in the Institute of Pharmacy, which are equipped with educational and research laboratories enhanced with modern pharmacy and analytical equipment (pharmacy and industrial technology, pharmacology, pharmaceutical and pharmacopoeia analysis, pharmaceutical chemistry, etc.).

The institute possesses classrooms equipped with computers, which provide an opportunity to organize lectures equipped with didactic materials, as well as online lectures for distance learning.
In order to fully master the courses, students are also provided with electronic materials and books, and some printed books and educational-methodological manuals can be acquired from the YSU library and the office of the Institute of Pharmacy.
