YSU EMPHASIZES THE IMPORTANCE OF GRANT WRITING SKILLS. THE LAUNCH OF TRAINING WAS GIVEN
Within the framework of training on "Grant Writing Skills", courses will take place on searching for grant programs, drawing up a plan, and budget, as well as presenting and implementing them.
The specialists and experts of the grant coordination department of Arizona State University, USA will conduct the training organized by the International Cooperation Office of YSU, in which 32 people who submitted applications in advance will take part.
Within the framework of the lectures organized twice a week, the participants will receive both theoretical and practical knowledge about not only domestic but also foreign grant programs.
It is noteworthy that the thematic plan of the training courses was drawn up taking into account the participants' expectations from the training program in their motivation letters.
Head of the Grants Coordination Department of YSU International Cooperation Office, Arsen Aproyan, told us that the idea of training has been discussed with YSU International Cooperation Office, and today it is being implemented. A. Aproyan highlighted the fact that YSU provides an opportunity not only to university students; but also to other people interested in it, to get the basic knowledge about writing grant programs.
Speaking of other opportunities provided by the course, A. Aproyan stated that due to this, the interest in applying for both domestic and foreign grant programs would increase. He emphasized that even after the course; the grant coordination department is ready to assist in drawing up grant programs and other issues related to them.
Referring to the cooperation with Arizona State University, the head of the grant coordination department emphasized the involvement of foreign experts in the training process, who will hold a course in the framework of this initiative in November.
"Experts from Arizona State University in the USA will present the skills of applying to American grant programs, to which there is an opportunity to apply from Armenia, however, statistics show that few people actually do. This training, in turn, will contribute to the expansion of the circle of those who are interested," said A. Aproyan.
A. Aproyan stated that the training courses would be continuous. According to him, in addition to being a source of knowledge, they also contribute to the international recognition of the university and the expansion of the scope of cooperation.
It is noteworthy that the university is developing innovative approaches, in which the key is that every lecturer and employee should participate in training with appropriate credit. In this context, it is important that at the end of the training, the participants will receive certificates.
It is also planned to conduct such training in the future for the participation of which excellent knowledge of English will be one of the important prerequisites.
