YSU GRADUATE AND CAREER CENTER CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN THE STUDENT-EMPLOYER CONNECTION
The YSU Alumni and Career Center organized courses and two-day educational visits firstly for the YSU Ijevan branch and then for other YSU students. The purpose of the visit was to acquaint the students with the opportunities available in the labor market and to transfer new knowledge and skills through the courses.
During the saturated days, the students participated in the course entitled "Rules of writing a competent CV and how to introduce yourself to the employer". Within the framework of the course YSU alumni and career center specialist Arusyak Sahakyan presented the main principles of writing a resume, then the way to present yourself correctly to the employer, noting that they are important prerequisites for employment.
Varduhi Harutyunyan, deputy director of "Imex Group" company, director of human resources, told us. "Our company has been cooperating with YSU for quite a long time. Such cooperation is very important for us because our target is YSU graduates, who later become our employees. We appreciate the joint organization of such events, because students, having strengthened practical knowledge, will be able to apply them in the best way in the future. I think it is important for both sides that the joint work is continuous."
In the framework of the course presented by V. Harutyunyan titled "How to find the job of your dreams", the students gained knowledge related to self-discovery, achieving the set goals, and other issues.
Then the specialists of the development and recruitment department of "Ardshinbank" CJSC presented the "Become a banker" student program, which provides an opportunity to get theoretical and practical knowledge about the field.
Referring to the initiative, Deputy Director of YSU Alumni and Career Center Karine Nazaryan said that such a visit for students of the YSU Ijevan branch has been organized several times. According to her, the COVID-19 pandemic has prevented its frequent implementation. The deputy director of the center told us that it is necessary to develop new programs, which will allow the YSU Ijevan branch students to be actively involved in similar initiatives.
Speaking about the opportunities provided by the visit, she pointed out some of the main goals of the center, among which were to ensure the employer-student connection and to form stable communication between them.
It is noteworthy that within the framework of the cooperation between Yerevan State University and "The Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Armenia" company, tours of YSU students to the Coca-Cola Happiness Factory are periodically organized.
This time, the students visited the factory, were acquainted with the brand, and the company's activities, and got an idea about the opportunities for professional growth.
During the two-day visit, the students submitted their CVs to the employer organization, which is a good opportunity for them to carry out practical and work activities in "Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Armenia".
