THE CONFERENCE ON "BASIC PROBLEMS OF NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT IN RA" LAUNCHED AT YSU FACULTY OF GEOGRAPHY AND GEOLOGY
During the republican scientific conference, reports were presented on topics related to the problems of different types of natural resources of the Republic of Armenia. It was dedicated to the memory of the students-soldiers who lost their lives in the 44-day war.
Faculty dean Marat Grigoryan welcomed the participants of the conference. According to the dean, the conference will take place annually, because similar events provide an opportunity to conduct new scientific studies, as well as to keep the memory of our immortal heroes alive, to carry out the researches they did not perform.
Vahram Vardanyan, the vice-dean of the Faculty of Geography and Geology, appreciated the organization of such thematic events and emphasized that their number should increase.
The chair of the first session of the conference was Seyran Suvaryan, the head of the Service chair of the faculty, who spoke about the importance of studying RA's natural resources, identifying their problems, and proposing solutions for the effective management of natural resources.
At the session, 20 articles were presented, which were particularly related to land degradation, landslide and seismic risk assessment, groundwater resource assessment, ensuring the attractiveness of natural resources for tourism, as well as analyzing the results of geodetic monitoring of natural resources.
Summarizing the first day of the conference, M. Grigoryan noted that the reports were rich in documentary and statistically reliable data, as well as distinguished by analytical work, which was performed using various research methods and tools.
