"YSU STUDENT COUNCIL HAS STARTED THE WORKS OF RECONSTRUCTING THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY AND STRENGTHENING INTER-UNIVERSITY RELATIONS". PRESIDENT OF YSU DEBATE CLUB
The president of the debate club of the YSU Student Council is Anna Darbinyan, a student of the Faculty of International Relations. We talked with Anna about choosing a university, developing her debating skills, and other topics.
Narrated by Anna herself.
Choosing YSU among the universities of the Republic of Armenia was one of my best decisions.
From an early age, I decided to choose a profession that would allow me to work in the field of domestic administration or foreign diplomacy. In the end, I chose the second one, to use my knowledge and skills for the benefit of the Republic of Armenia. Choosing YSU was unequivocal. I have always treated and continue to treat my education with the greatest responsibility.
Before being elected as the president of the debate club, I coordinated the scientific and educational activities of the Faculty's SC, showing great responsibility for the work I did.
During that period, I put more emphasis on the professional debate club, which revealed the abilities of many students, fulfilling the goal set before me. It also provided freedom of thought and expression, created a platform for developing public discourse and debating on a number of agenda issues, turning theoretical knowledge into practice, which is of key importance for diplomats. Debating is a beautiful and "stinging" art that charms everyone, and debating regularly is extremely enjoyable and provides an opportunity to acquire many skills.
The Faculty of International Relations of YSU offers wide prospects for gaining a stable position in the labor market, as well as for student development.
An enterprising and enthusiastic student strives to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the faculty, such as receiving a quality education, student-faculty relationships, non-formal education contributions, etc. As before, it was a priority for me to take charge and organize all of this. Having seen the long-term work of the YSU student council and understanding the ideological and moral basis on which the institution operates, I got involved in both YSU and the faculty’s Student Council from the first year.
YSU offers a wide range of co-op opportunities.
Apart from the educational components, YSU has human capital, which is an infinite opportunity to create and increase the frameworks of solidarity and cooperation for the present and the future.
Along with active university life, I cooperate with international organizations.
Before becoming a student, I received many certificates from various international organizations (UN, EU, Eurasian Cooperation Fund, etc.). Now I am already involved in those institutions. Working with foundations and non-governmental organizations, I localize grants and investments for socio-educational programs, as well as organize and manage the process.
Further activities of the Debate Club are fundamentally larger in scale and have defined goals.
It is a high honor and responsibility to participate in the management of one of the university's structures. This semester, we will hold an all-university championship, for which both representative and collective teams from a number of universities have filled out applications and participated in interviews. This is a big step for re-establishing the co-student community and strengthening inter-university bonds. Yerevan State University and the university's Student Council, as hosts, promise big surprises to their audience and participating teams this year. No one will be left out of the campaign we have started, but I will not present details for now. Henceforth, the SC debate club will set even more complex tasks before it, the mechanisms of their solution have already been determined, and all we have to do is move forward with clear steps.
