"DEVELOPMENT OF PROFESSIONAL THINKING IS THE KEY IN THE EDUCATIONAL POLICY OF YSU". EDUARD POGHOSYAN
Eduard Poghosyan, a student of the YSU Journalism Faculty, leads an active university life. During the interview, he told us about his choice of university, the importance of quality professional education in the work of a journalist, and his goals.
I applied to YSU without hesitation. There could be no alternative.
I made my decision to study at the Faculty of Journalism of YSU without the intervention of my parents and at a very early age, being interested in the work of a presenter. Along with taking the first steps in the field, my ideas changed. I realized that I want to work as a journalist in the future. I was confident that, by entering YSU, I would acquire high-level academic knowledge of the field and easily enter the labor market.
Being admitted to YSU, one can be sure that he will become a competitive specialist in the future.
In general, the university offers a wide range of opportunities, and it is clear that this range is increasing day by day. It is noteworthy that the development of professional thinking is key in YSU's educational policy, which, I can confidently say, is important in every profession. Being a second-year student and applying the knowledge I have gained, I understand that they are the guarantee of becoming one of the best specialists in the field in the future.
I want to become a journalist covering the political field.
I have a great interest in both local and national, regional and global politics. My direction in journalism will definitely be the coverage of the political agenda.
Studying at the Faculty of Journalism of YSU, I strengthened my belief that to be a professional journalist, quality professional education is mandatory, which can be obtained at YSU.
Almost everyone has their own media consumption tool, the functionality of which also allows you to create media products, but we need to clarify what we are talking about: quality, conscientious and professional, or low-quality journalistic activity. I do not agree with the point of view that it is not necessary to get a professional education to be a journalist. The profession of a journalist is quite complicated, and being acquainted with it is not so easy (of course, we are talking about professional journalism). A clear understanding of what has been said can be formed only by entering the Faculty of Journalism of YSU.
Every reform carried out in the Faculty of Journalism of YSU is important not only for the student's progress but also for the media field in general.
Journalism is a practical profession. Yes, having theoretical knowledge is important and key to being an advanced and leading professional in the field, but having classes focused on practical skills is also essential. The recent reforms made in the faculty, related to the introduction of the new educational module "Practicum" and the establishment of an experimental television station, will contribute to the progress of students and, in turn, the media field. The students of the YSU Journalism Faculty are able to make breakthrough changes in the media field thanks to the knowledge they have received.
Teaching at YSU is one of my main goals.
YSU is a national value for me. Every day I go to university with great joy, but apart from joy, there is a great sense of responsibility. Yes, for me studying at YSU is first a responsibility. It is with this responsibility that I will continue my studies in one of the master's programs, hoping that later I will earn the honor and the opportunity to give lectures in my faculty.
